There weren’t too many goodies this year, sadly. I do recommend the top 8 and don’t recommend the last three. The Time-Traveler’s Wife was a reread–I loved it dearly the first time but the second time I found the writing got in the way of the story. That’s never a good thing for a book.
Currently I’m reading Before I Wake by Robert Wiersema (not “Remind Me Later!) for the book club. It was my pick–but it was pretty random. I went to the library’s book club list and rapidly read some summaries before choosing it. Turns out the book is set in Victoria–which is also where the author lives! I think the book club ladies shall like it.

Maybe, for 2010, I'll keep track of the books I read – I love that you did this.Diana Gabaldon books may well be my favorite escape. My love for the Outlander series is no secret. I've got a bunch of books in my to-read pile now, though, so I doubt I'll be traveling back to Claire and Jamie's neighborhood for a while…
I'm going to have to echo Mrs. Chili's thoughts and try to keep track of what I've read. I'm only on book #3 since being over here, so I've been pretty lazy. But I read All Quiet on the Western Front and a few other "classics" earlier this year, and I'm currently on "The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao", which is really good. I have a copy of "Teacher Man", so that might have to jump to the top of the list for next-in-line.Hope you and the family have a good new year, LG! Thanks for the message the other day. All the best in 2010!T
